Lynn Schweitzer January Volunteer of the Month
"Lynn has been a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muscatine County since 2005. She has had the same Little Sister, who is now a sophomore at Muscatine High School. Lynn has been committed and regular in meeting with Jess through all the variations of Jess' teenage years. Not only have they done many things to have fun together, Lynn has promoted and helped Jess with other activities outside of their meetings which foster her personal development. For example, she attended a twice a month girls empowerment group meeting for two years with Jess. Lynn has taken Jess's brother occasionally, and has done things to be supportive of her mom, as well. Lynn has readily worked at fundraisers for our program; each year she provides us with freebies to use as door prizes for our largest fundraiser Bowl for Kids' Sake and has participated on the Bowl for Kid's Sake planning Committee in the past. Lynn is a positive person, who believes whole-heartedly in the value of mentoring and has shown that in her actions of the past six years." Krista Regennitter
