2011 is a great example of collaboration and volunteerism that brings great resolve aimed at success and progress in our organization. United Way of Muscatine experienced growth in every area of our organization this past year. Our community truly cares!

In addition to the continuing growth of Day of Caring participation, fundraising volunteers personally contacted businesses as we reach out to provide education to our community about the essential role that United Way and its partner agency programs play.

The Board of Directors proceeded with confidence in their effort to better serve our residents and provide the

direction for our organization into the next decade. Our community investment committee and volunteers focused on prioritizing community needs and determined the level of funding for each program request.

We have the pride of offering added value in the programs we provide that are funded through special grants and investments. Our direct service programs, LINCS and Volunteer Solutions, are supported by special events and individual contributions specifically designated to each program. The message is very clear that these programs are important to our community residents, businesses and agencies.

United Way is a complex organization with a business model to support its charitable mission. Our United Way continues to remain fiscally sound and with due diligence provides accurate and

timely financial reporting. With these commitments, relationships and support, our United Way of Muscatine will continue to grow and serve – after all, that is what we accomplish when we focus on making a difference to improve the lives of those we serve.

Thank you Muscatine for a warm welcome and a rewarding 2011.
